VW-Edition - 2008 Online Bible Module:
-
The Online Bible program should be installed first. (But if it has been running, close it before proceeding)
Download (save to your computer) "VW-OLB.EXE" (below), and 'run' it
to install the VW-edition module. If installation was successful, skip to #4 below, and that should be it.
-
If #1 was not successfull, please download [vw-olb.zip], extract its contents with an unzipping utility, and run "vw-setup.exe". If that fails, proceed to #3 instructions for manual installation.
-
If you need to 'manually' install the translation, start up Online Bible,
and install the "BIBLE.801" module into it, from the Tools-User Module-Restore/Add Material menu/s.
(If you have an older version of OLB you will need to activate your Tools-Customise Settings-User Preferences- Advanced User Mode for this to work) And once installed, don't forget to
Select "Bible-VW 2008" from within Library-Selection Preferences.
Online Bible FAQs - especially for Vista users
-
Very important: for the corrected names for "Jacob" and "Judas" to appear properly in the window title bars, make sure that Tools-Customise Settings - Use Standard English Abbreviations in Verse Windows is NOT checked.
-
If you don't have Online Bible Software you can
Download it from the OLB website. Be sure to download the "Starter Pack" (NOT the "Update"). The Starter Pack includes AV (KJV) with Strongs numbers, Hebrew/Greek lexicons, TSK for cross-referencing, and Easton's Bible Dictionary. This setup should provide most people with everything they need for serious Bible study.
Once you have installed the OLB program, then follow the instructions at #1 (above) to install the VW-edition into the program.
-
If you find you like the OLB software, to enhance your studies you might also find the following recommended tools of benefit:
Paragraph Marks & OLB: -Officially, the VW-edition was produced with paragraph marks intentionally removed from the text. The way OLB is designed, the paragraph marks are a property of the program, itself, and not the translation module. (They are based on Matthew Henry) Thus, if you install everything defaulting as designed, you will see the paragraph marks in the VW-edition with OLB. However, I have discovered that the paragraph marks can be disabled by deleting or renaming the "paragrap.map" file (the one in OLB's base directory; not your user data sub-directory); and have not yet discovered any problems with the program's functions as a result. If you do this, however, the paragraph marks will also not appear in any of the other translations, either. This suggestion is not an official technical 'bulletin' from Online Bible; it is my own discovery; so if you decide to try it, do so at your own risk. However, as I say, I've had good success for my own use.

"BIBLE-VW.PDF" -
-
(3.6Mb)
VW-Edition PDF File - (December, 07)
NOTE: Right-click the "Download" icon and "save target as" to save without opening.
Suggestion for printing: -
If you first print all 'odd' page numbers, keeping the pile in-tact as it comes out the printer, then simply turn the pile over and print the 'even' pages. Once finished, barring difficulties along the way (to replenish ink, the printer grabbed more than 1 page, etc), the pages should all be in order.
Many quick-print/copy businesses can digitally print (from this PDF file), collate and 3-hole punch the pages for less than the cost of ink refills. And then use the 3-ring binder suggestion which follows.
Suggestion for binding: -
If you use standard copier/printer paper, the collection should 'just' fit into a 1 1/2 inch "D" type loose-leaf binder.

VW-Edition - Zefania XML:
-
"VW-MY.ZIP" -
-
(1.3Mb)
VW-Edition XML w/out Jacob/Judas subtitles - (November, 07)
-- This file also works 'directly' in MyBible - (For details: see vwreadme.txt)
-
"VW-WORD.ZIP" -
-
(1.3Mb)
VW-Edition XML with Jacob/Judas subtitles - (February, 08)
-- This file also 'imports' to TheWord - (For details: see vwreadme.txt) -- But if you use TheWord program, use the vw.ont.exe file under TheWord. It has been custom-taylored specifically to TheWord's proprietary format, better than the import utility's generic conversion process.
Explanation: -
The Zefania XML format seems to be a format that various software designers are using. Some programs use it directly, others will "import" it into their own proprietary format. Two versions are offered here: One for those programs that allow translation-unique book names to appear correctly on the title bars (or where "standard" or "default" abbreviations/names can be disabled); and one for those where Jacob and Judas will not appear correctly, having a special header-subtitle for the purpose.
Caution: -
If you find other postings of the VW-edition in "Zefania XML" listings, they may or may not be current, or accurate. There seems to be a tendency out there to post without permission, and to make little changes as suits their whims. What is offered above here is authenticated by VW as being textually correct.

VW-Edition - PDA-friendly:
- (April, 09)
Description: -
Online files for those with wireless internet access, designed specifically for smaller PDA screens, and each chapter is its own file for smaller memory requirements. So far it has been tested and works with Blackberry, Opera "mini" browser and Palm Treo. If you click on it with a regular computer browser it is not very 'pretty', but was requested by/for PDA users. Hopefully the format is universal enough to work with many different 'small' platforms. If you find any bad links, please let me know so I can fix them.
