" Crazy "
The world is becoming a crazy place. Not that it hasn't always been
crazy since sin entered the picture. But lately that craziness seems to
be ramping up. Locally, based on the news, it seems that burglaries and
hold-ups are escalating. Not long ago four police officers were gunned
down in cold blood over on the west side of the state, which resulted in
a huge memorial, and outpourings of support for their widowed families.
As if that wasn't enough, more recently two more were shot, and are now
recovering. Closer to Spokane, there is the pending case of the young
girl who was found on the hiway, unconscious. Did she fall out of a
vehicle, or was she pushed, and 'left' there? She is now conscious and
recouperating, but all the facts haven't yet been ascertained. The case
of the woman who was run over and dragged (over a mile) to her death
underneath the vehicle, making such a mess on the streets that they had
to be closed off and the city street washers and sweepers needed to be
called in to clean up the mess; still unsolved. That incident happened,
as it turned the corner, within a block of my sign shop.
Jesus said of the days just prior to His return that events would
escalate and become like the "days of Noah". (Mt24:37) Jesus spoke of
life going on 'as normal', living life, planting crops, being married,
etc.etc. Another characteristic of Noah's day was that...
"The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with
violence." (Gen6:11)
VIOLENCE and CORRUPTION; as Jesus also likened it to the "days of Lot"
(Lk17:28) The charactristics of Sodom are also rampant today. And what
did they say of Lot before it was destroyed?
"This one came in to sojourn, and he acts as a judge to condemn;"
(Gen19:9)
How are they coming after Believers? Accusations of Intolerance, Hate
Speech, Bigotry, Mental Disorder, Unbalanced. being Judgmental. In our
so-called 'free' societies they don't come after Believers straight
forward, and complain about what's really bothering them: That we
believe in Jesus Christ as the 'only' way to God. (Jn14:6, Ac4:12,10)
They would never complain that we believe in Jesus Christ... but that we
believe that He is the -ONLY- WAY; that He is -THE- DOOR, and that all
other ways are ways of robbery and thievery. (Jn10:7-9) But the truth
is that they -hate- God; thus they also hate His followers. (Jn16:1-3)
But they cannot complain about our love for God, because they also
-claim- to love Him. So they invent these other angles.
A prime example of this happened just the other day, the 24th, at the
so-called "Midnight Mass" at St.Peter's... although they held it at 10pm
this year. According to the evening news here, by the time one accounts
for the time zones, the event had already happened in Rome. This lady
jumps out of the audience, lunges towards the pope, and he ends up on
the floor, one of the cardinals ends up with a broken leg, and the
security people escort her out.
According to the news source I first heard it on, the account went
something like: This lady attacks the pope, just like she did a year
ago; she is known to have a 'history' of mental disorders. And then in
the next breath, they then added that it hadn't yet been determined if
this was the SAME LADY as last year.
So, let's think about the initial logic here. Before all the facts are
in (for sure), the conclusion is reached that this lady has a 'history'
of mental problems. But they don't know, conclusively, -who- this lady
is. If they don't know -who- she is, how can they conclude that she has
a -history- of "mental disorders"?
It is an immediate -assumption-. Somebody is attacking the pope. They're
crazy! After all, what sort of 'sane' person would try to do injury to
such an one of such eminence.
Another interesting state of affairs, in Great Britain. Yielding to
pressure from Islamic factions, the British court system has been
persuaded to issue warrants for the arrest of certain Israeli leaders,
should they step foot in England. Their crime? Being in leadership in
Israel when Israel engaged in military operations in Gaza a year ago,
destroying military installations and weapons caches. And Great Britain,
the nation who was responsible for the Balfour Declaration to establish
Israel as a nation again, is now caving to Israel's enemies. What one
group of people has against another, they take it before the global
(essentially) court of opinion. They can't deal with the matter,
themselves, so they solicite others to help do their dirty work.
You see... all these global summits, eventually coming to fruition as a
global governance. A citizen of one country can be tried in a court half
a world away...no longer protected by their own nation's legal system of
governance and constitution. In fact, US high judges are, more and more,
making decisions, not based on the US Constitution, but on principles of
the World Court.
But if a Believer in Jesus Christ is arrested in their own jurisdiction,
where the Constitution guarantees "freedom of religion", how can the
powers-that-be make a case 'stick'? The Believer's problem is not that
they believe in the Most High, and guide their lives by the Bible; No!
They are 'sick'! They have "self-esteem" issues. They are neurotic. They
have issues that were derived from their childhood that need to be
"reprogrammed".
Indeed, in communism's past, when Christians were rounded up and sent to
prison, it was a program of mood-altering and behavioral modification
drugs, counseling, torture... as it was known during that era... "BRAIN
WASHING". Get rid of the notions of God, sin, salvation, Heaven, hell,
good and evil.
It was also known as "atheistic communism". Their prime agenda was that
"there is no God". First cosmonaut to go into space, in keeping with the
party program, when he got up into space, is alleged to have looked
around and smarted off: I don't see God anywhere up here.
If they were to carp -because- the True Christian BELIEVES IN GOD, they
would be knowingly openly condemning themselves. But if they can couch
it with terms like "re-education" or "psychological adjustment" or
"sensitivity training".
And these labels of "mentally ill" or "psychological disorder" do not
even need to be based in fact or certified knowledge...which was the
whole point of reviewing the news coverage of the woman who attacked the
pope. The reporter DIDN'T KNOW, but proclaimed her 'problem' before
researching all the facts. And so then in the court of public opinion,
whether she was or not, she is assumed to be 'crazy'.
As laws are being passed, citizens will be losing their constitutional
protection of "due process", if the president decides that it's time to
clamp down on certain Christians. All that has to be invoked is
"national security concern"; and that will be enough to wave the Bill of
Rights, and the person can be carted off to detention, locked up, never
to be seen again for who-knows-how-long. As it is turning out, true
national security risks will have more "rights" than true (innocent)
Christians will have, who have not broken any laws, nor made any threats
to the nation.
And many of them will be carted off to 'mental' hospitals and subjected
to physical, chemical and psychological abuse, because....
THEY'RE CRAZY!
This is nothing new. After all, isn't this what Festus yells out to Paul...
"Paul, you are beside yourself! Much learning is driving you mad!" (Ac26:24)
You're crazy. You're too smart for your own good. (Perhaps an aside to the royalty sitting next to him: He needs re-education) But then, after further reasoning by Paul, he then says...
"You almost persuade me to become a Christian" (vs28)
and then they discuss...
"This man is doing nothing deserving of death or bonds" (vs31)
You see... this is why Paul was in prison; for his Faith in Jesus Christ, and boldly proclaiming it. (Eph6:20, Col4:3) And ultimately it cost him his head at a Roman sword.
"In this regard, they think it strange that you do not run with them in
the same overflow of dissipation, blaspheming." (1Pt4:4)
"Let us walk decently, as in the day, not in carousings and drunkenness,
not in cohabitation and licentiousness, not in strife and envy. But put
on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to
fulfill its lusts." (Rom13:13-14)
"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a
defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you,
with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they speak
against you as evildoers, those who falsely accuse your good conduct in
Christ may be ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to
suffer for doing good than for doing evil." (1Pt3:15-17)
Amen!
