I received this article on e-mail and wondered if you know anything about its validity??

according to an article translated from a Finnish newspaper named "Ammennusatia" a group of Soviet geological scientists drilling a hole about 14.4 kilometers (almost 9 miles) deep in the crust of the earth in remote Siberia claimed that they heard human screams emulating from deep within the hole.

They said that as they were drilling the drill bit suddenly began to rotate wildly, indicating that they had reached a large empty pocket, or cavern, and that when they did the temperature sensors immediately showed a dramatic increase in heat to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

VW: This is a longer narrative, and includes the Soviets running a microphone down this hole and hearing "screams" of "thousands, perhaps millions" of people. And allegedly, "the appearance that same night of a fountainhead of luminous gas shooting up from the drill site, and out of the midst of this incandescent cloud pillar a brilliant being with bat wings revealed itself with the words (in Russian): "I have conquered" emblazoned against the dark Siberian sky."

VW ANSWER:
I've heard of this before. Although, this is the first time I've heard of the -creature- with "bat wings". This story has been around for some years... I don't know how many...

For awhile there was even an audio clip at one of the 1611 KJV-only websites, alleging to be a recording of those mics stuck down the hole.

But in hearing that file (which: I don't know if it is still being offered at that site anymore...it's been several years ago), if that file is the only one of its kind, and is the basis for the "proof" of this matter....I would have to say it is a hoax.

The quality of the file was very poor. And yet, from my music background...I also tuned pianos, designed/installed PA systems, and did various kinds of recording with my own equipment....and while in professional classical music, have also been in recording studios....so I have an understanding regarding certain things regarding 'sound' and recording techniques....and what comes out the hearing end of a recording....but in spite of the poor quality, and over the web, there were some tell-tale indicators of 'how' the recording had (actually) been made.

The file that was at "Dial-a-Truth" was a poor quality 'concoction' done, possibly in somebody's own home (?) with, perhaps, a multitrack recorder....but for sure with some sort of artificial echo/reverb device. Whatever the case, the 'phasing' was sooo 'manufactured', there was nothing "natural" to it. It was manufactured/manipulated. And rather than being "thousands/millions" of voices, it was merely a 'handful' of voices, overdubbed. And the "screams" were even of poor -acting- quality. They were not screams of terror, dread or pain at all....but poor substitutes of high-pitched "shouting" and phony sounding wailing and such....as of people 'pretending'.

And....anything coming from the Soviet era....I would trust 'nothing' as being authentic or reliable. And of course....we know that satan has the ability to mimic things, and put on quite the stage shows. I mean...he's got people thinking they're seeing "mary" here and there, uttering this and that, and weeping. So, if this was a -real- event....I would tend to lump it along with all of satan's other shenanigans.

And furthermore....if this hole was as hot as they say....how would a microphone possibly survive the heat? Yes?

If it is the case that there "is a great chasm fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you are not able, nor can those from there pass to us." (Lk16:26) how is it that some alleged Soviets were able to reach someplace that even Abraham cannot?


But we have a "more sure Word of prophecy" (2Pet1:19)


And...-WHO- is the One who "conquered"?
